This module allows you to automatically discount new products by a specified percentage and for a specified number of hours after the product is added to the catalog.
- For the specified number of hours after adding a new product, the product's price will be discounted by the specified percentage. The reduced price will appear in your store exactly like a special price normally appears, depending on your template. The module is effectively turned off by entering the value 0 for the time limit.
- If, during the limited discount time, you enter a special price via the Specials page in admin that is lower than the auto-discounted price, that new special price will take precedence and be displayed instead of the auto-discount.
- This module overwrites the core file includes/functions/functions_prices.php, which cannot be overridden by the template override system. Please keep a note of this modification, as you will need to be careful not to overwrite the modified file during any future upgrade of your store. Changes made to the core file are clearly documented in the file itself.
